About half the boards had the problem, like 10 out of 24 or so.

They take good money for these boards, I expect to get a good product
for that. I also expect the manufacturer to have good support for their
product, though it's better when you don't need the support because the
product just works fine.

Asus obviously couldn't do any of that but taking the money.
There's nothing I can do about it other than not buying their products
again and recommending others not to buy them either.

Besides, boards should have a lifetime warranty. I have a lifetime
warranty on the brakes on my truck, though brakes are parts that wear.
Boards don't even wear.

Don't buy a Mercedes unless it's old. They made good cars until about 20
years ago, but that changed.
