I don't see how you know this person is the maintainer. Are you just assuming?

I assumed that the tag moreinfo was set by a maintainer of the debian
package (I am not able to see any other reasonable possibility).

Also, check the link in that page: http://people.debian.org/~rene/

In any case,

 apt-cache show openoffice.org|grep ^Maintainer
Maintainer: Debian OpenOffice Team <debian-openoffice@lists.debian.org>

Then go to the first hit in the google search

Linkname: debian-openoffice@lists.debian.org rene - Google Search
        URL:
  http://www.google.com/search?q=debian-openoffice@lists.debian.org+rene&btnG=Search&hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1

Sorry I didn't mean to give the impression that I'm helpless. My main line of inquiry is actually to find out how to ascertain all this stuff myself with the ease that I'm used to from many other software that have web-based issue trackers. I guess in this case, putting that data into a field on the bug report is a nice-to-have for the future.
