If you are looking for a way to access man(ual)pages graphically in Gnome, I
would suggest installing the package "dwww". You can search for and view man
pages and other documentation in a web browser.
The "Using dwww" section from this NewbieDOC HOWTO [1] includes a screenshot and
will give you some idea.
