I had an issue a while back that I have run into before with javascript
properly executing on my debian stable machine (etch). It was with some
banking software. The source code of the javascript is VERY finicky about
exactly what jre it runs on. The roblem was that I had also installed a bunch
of gcj-XXX apps as well. The author did not say why the software would not
work, but did tell me to get rid of the gcj-xxx stuff. He says this is a
problem exclusive to debian not other distros. I did as asked and the banking
software runs as intended.
As one other reply answered, if this does not run on XP with java installed it
is most likely an error in the javascript not on your machine. Not all java
coders are created experts.:-)
