I am a subscriber to verizon dsl and I choose yahoo as my email
provider. I use fetchmail to getmail and exim4 to send mail. I use mutt
to read mail. For exim4 setup I use 'smarthost' option and specify
'outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net'.
This is what I used to get it setup.
edit /etc/email-addresses
add 'kevin.mark@verzion.net'
edit /etc/exim4/exim4.conf.localmacros
add 'AUTH_CLIENT_ALLOW_NOTLS_PASSWORD = true'
edit /etc/exim4/exim4.conf.template
uncomment the sections starting with 'plain_server','login_server'
edit /etc/exim4/passwd
add 'kevin.mark:MYPASSWORD'
edit /etc/exim4/paswd.client
add ´*:kevin.mark:MYPASSWORD'
run 'update-exim4.conf' as root
run '/etc/init.d/exim4 restart'
If this works, let me know.
