Pango is necessary for enabling support for some languages (ex :- indic
languages).

>From 1.5.0.1, pango support is enabled by default. This is not the
default for Mozilla.org builds, so may have more problems, but it is
the default because it supports more languages out of the box. If you
experience problems, you can disable it by hand by setting
MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1 either in /etc/iceweasel/iceweaselrc,
${HOME}/.mozilla/firefox/rc or as an exported environment variable.
