Your math is way off.  20 miles in 20 minutes is 60 mph, and yes, the
buses do travel that fast when traveling on the highway.  The speed
limit for the bus is 100 km/h, which is about 60 mph.  That doesn't mean
they don't go faster.

However, I was exaggerating a bit.  To go the 26 km from here to
Amsterdam, it takes about a half of an hour with the car or the bus.
The difference is I have to find a place to park the car, and then pay
for it. Choosing the bus or the car for a trip to the city is a matter
of need.  For example if one needs to buy items that are heavy or bulky
and bring them home, then the car is the best mode of transportation.
If one is going to see museums and/or other sites, then the bus (or
train) is the best.
