It delivers either via smtp or /usr/sbin/sendmail, not directly to
a mail store.

To add a feed you do 'r2e add http://some.domain/rss-feed.rss' from
the command line.  To list your feeds do 'r2e list'.  In cron you
need just '/usr/bin/r2e run'.
