Is may not be possible just to merge projects like this. You may find it easier to work within an existing project or to create a new one if you cannot find anything suitable. Some NewbieDOC articles are published under the GPL, some under the GFDL and some are dual-licenced. Only the original author(s) can change the licence terms.

The NewbieDOC wiki runs in the same way as Wikipedia (with the same software). The "global" application of the GFDL applies to all entries (including comments etc) that do not have another licence specified. Thus, everything on the NewbieDOC website is compatible with the Debian Free Software Guidelines. However, the dual-licencing approach, for particular articles, overcomes the problem of using content from one project in another project eg content from NewbieDOC used in Debian Reference (GPL only for historical reasons), or perhaps in wiki.debian.org.

It would be great if NewbieDOC was useful to you. If not, perhaps we could change it to overcome any difficulties? You could always start development on NewbieDOC, or some other project, and later move development elsewhere if you decided that it did not meet your needs. After all, any documents that you write are _your_ documents!
