Thanks Florian,

I went back to a /var/apt/archives backup to get this and do this:-

# dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/libcvsservice0_4%3a3.5.2-1+b2_i386.deb
(Reading database ... 73882 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace libcvsservice0 4:3.5.2-1+b2
(using .../libcvsservice0_4%3a3.5.2-1+b2_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement libcvsservice0 ...
Setting up libcvsservice0 (3.5.2-1+b2) ...

But it doesn't appear to be only that package. Because nothing altered, The
root password isn't recognised.

I will try downgrading the others that were in the thread as well but later
and see what happens.

Thanks again
Charlie
