I bought before some weeks a laptop with an amd turion x2 cpu. That cpu is dual core and of course 64bit. I tested the laptop with debian etch 32bit and etch 64bit. The cpu works in both architectures amazing good. But if you want the 32bit debian I suggest you to use the k7 version of kernel because the x86 can't recognize the dual core of the cpu...
