If you have common hardware (Intel video, Nvidia or Ati(except X1***
series)) you won't get a lot trouble
You can also install  proprietary (closed source) drivers for Nvidia or
Ati

And, if you don't want to start X session (Desktop Environment) from
console (with startx) you could, also install kdm or gdm (I, personally
prefer gdm): `apt-get install gdm`
