I'll never accept this reasoning. To my mind it takes openness to a
level that just causes unnecessary grief for many legitimate users. Why
would a requirement to join a mailling list in order to post be so
offensive? I'll wager the only people who give a cuss about this are the
spammers. Surely the important aspect of "openness" in this context is
that everyone out there has access to eveything that's posted and in the
Not so much openness, I think, as obsessive political correctness. Which
of course is what we expect of debian...
