Yes, and in the portion of my message you chopped off I postulated that
they could have a slow link. IE, something over which email could
travel fairly easily while downloading megs of data to install software
that is sitting on a CD set would be painful.

They presume fast net access. Trust me, this isn't 1995 when I first
installed Debian over a 33.6k modem. I would not want to do the same in
the present day for a, what, *7* disc distribution if I had the CDs on
hand.
