X doesn't start

The X server fails to start.
Yesturday it worked fine.
I can't figure out how to fix the problem.
>From the log file I found this message:
Could not init font path element unix/:7100, removing from list!
FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.

The font configuration is:
Section "Files"
FontPath	"unix/:7100" # local font server
	# if the local font server has problems, we can fall back on these
	FontPath	"/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc"
	FontPath	"/usr/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic"
	FontPath	"/usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/:unscaled"
	FontPath	"/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/:unscaled"
	FontPath	"/usr/lib/X11/fonts/Type1"
	FontPath	"/usr/lib/X11/fonts/CID"
	FontPath	"/usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi"
	FontPath	"/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi"
EndSection

How could I solve the problem?

By the way, the nvidia driver frizes the system.
Whe X starts the system is not available not
even with ssh. The solution I found was to use the
vesa driver.
