Network issues

Hi everyone.

I'm having network problems, with my ethernet connection (Accton something, uses "tulip" module) and with the wireless card (Asus WL-100). I'm running Debian testing, but kernel 2.8.14.

I've been using my laptop as a desktop replacement for a while and everything worked fine but recently I took my laptop to the lab, connected with ethernet (everything fine), even did an update, but when I returned home the computer fails to get an IP (through DHCP). I already got a similar behavior some time ago when I tried different kernels.

Wireless card was also properly configured before but I did used recently until yesterday, now the interface doesn't show up when I plug the pcmcia card on. No messages in the system log! The problem might be with the udev thing, which I don't fully understand, and have no idea how to use it.

Any ideas are most welcome.
Thank you.
