don't know. google or F1 may tell.

_AFAIK_ it's some bootoption like "expert" typed at the prompt. isn't
there a help when F1 is pressed? IIRC the option to boot 2.6 is
availible only with the sarge installer?

i still install my machines (all without sata yet) with quite old woody
cd's and upgrade later - so i'm not much help here.
