Dear David, Kent and friends:

The "URL won't launch problem is directly related to Konqueror, NOT to Kmail.
I tested a number of combinations and at last was able to prove this.

When I changed the html file association to Epiphany AND also selected
Epiphany as my browser of choice under Component Choice (KDE Components in
Control Center), the problem disappeared. I tested in Kmail, and Kmail
launched the URL instantly through Epiphany. It's clearly a Konqueror issue
because when I launch Konqueror by itself and try to access the same URL, it
takes an eternity (as already described). On the other hand, when I do the
same in Epiphany on its own, it launches it instantly.

So, clearly it's a Konqueror issue. Its rendering engine is very, very slow.

But that's not all. When I opened one of my web sites LOCALLY with Konqueror,
it launched the index.html file instantly. So somewhere between my computer
and the Internet Konqueror is enountering a serious problem.

Thank you all for your kind help with this issue.

Benjamin
