Hello Everybody, Iwant to thank all of you who had the patience to stay with me and answer
my questions.  And, yes, I did get the message and wont use e2defrag.  BTW, it was easy to
find the file as it is a Debian package that I've seen before and easily found with wajig search.

A couple of responders mentioned dump/restore to do what I was thinking of doing with e2defrag. I read the man file but don't really understand what it does as being a newbie I don't really know what an inode or journal is. Before I close this thread, perhaps one of you would give me a little
more insight on it and whether or not I should use it.  Thanks again for you patience.
