RE: LI (in LILO) boot translation



I had a similar problem when I had too many PCI cards in a system with a SATA/150 promise controller.

 

However, have you tried letting it sit for 10-30 minutes?

 

After 5-10 minutes in my case it actually booted even though it sat at LI for a while.

 

Give it a try.

 

Other than that, it could be a few things, you may need LBA32 on the drive, or linear addressing etc..

I'm trying to resolve boot problems on this host which appears to have a corrupt MBR.  Any diagnositics to root with a boot disk that fixes corrupt MBR.

 

Error seen on this host is the following:

 

Updating ESCD...Success

Verifying DMI Pool Data ...........Update Success

Forgot what the second stalled letter in the LILO boot process means.
