What's unreasonable is that Gnome yet again collectively thinks it knows
how to do things better than the rest of the world, and ignores established
standards in favor of its own twisted idea of "the right thing." And thus
was the abortion known as gdm created.
So you end up having to subvert X in order to get things done.
