You are using what is called "stable" or "woody".
Success is more probable with "sarge" which is the next soon to be stable.
Download that CD and try that: http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/

Although you used rev 4. of Woody, that release is 3 years old now.

The new debian-installer has many "installation-reports":
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?which=pkg&data=installation-reports&archive=no

which are reports on the use of the installer where you might find 
something of use when you use it.
