You sure? I'm not totally au fait with Intel's development path at the
moment - AMD have been offering much more bang for the buck for some
time now so that's where my attention has been directed. But I have
some commercial CFD apps which came in a tarball of versions for
several different platforms, including both Linux/ia32 and Linux/ia64.
I don't see how they could have written the ia64 version if there
weren't any ia64 processors to run it on, and I don't think it's very
likely that they're simply using "ia64" as a synonym for "amd64".
