The Debian AMD64 port is in pretty good shape, but a home user should note: certain popular closed source apps are 32 bit: - w32codecs - RealPlayer 10 (and 8, but who cares?) - acroread It's possible to get them running in chroot jails. The debian-amd64 list archives has much more on how to do that.
