(How often do you expect to do Full vs. Incremental Backups?) Type of data??? (flat file, database, always changing, hardly ever) Activity??? (Is it 24x365 or 8x5) These all have a bearing on the answer. If it's a small-office or important home server, go get 6 external firewire hard drives for "weekly full backup rotation" and DVDs for daily incremental backups. Label the drives A...F. You will rotate them. Week #1 uses drive A, week #2 uses B, ... week #7 erases drive A and uses it again. Always keep them *off* *site* when not in use!!! Someone will have to stay late to wait for the full B/U to complete, and bring it home, to the vault, etc. Same with the DVDs. Bring them off site!! -- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Ron Johnson, Jr. Jefferson, LA USA PGP Key ID 8834C06B I prefer encrypted mail.
