Both of them will not print any jobs. In the CUPS administrative
interface, it says that the job is aborted. I've upgraded and downgraded
CUPS on the laptop, but to no avail. I've deleted the printer in CUPS
and reinstalled it, but to no avail.
Can the printer print its diagnostic?
Can you print a test page in CUPS admin?
Does CUPS bother to tell you *why* the job was aborted or who aborted
it?
No it doesn't.
I've tested CUPS with a normal print job and a
From the laptop, does CUPS see the desktop as a viable print server?
How can I check that? I mean, print jobs are taken care of by CUPS. They are just not printet.
For sure (maybe) the problem is with the new install on the desktop.
I'd say that both computers use the same version of CUPS. So it should not matter which computer it is.
Before printing a job, CUPS shows this:
Printer State: idle, accepting jobs.
Device URI: socket://192.168.1.210:9100
After a "Print Test Page" is initiated:
Printer State: processing, accepting jobs.
/"Connected to host, sending print job..."/
Device URI: socket://192.168.1.210:9100
Under "Show Completed Jobs":
PhotoSmart7150-221 Test Page root 15k
aborted Restart Job
It's the same s_h_i_t with a normal print job.
I have a third computer running with a working CUPS, but I haven't upgraded that one for some time.
I do not dare to upgrade that one until CUPS is running again on the other 2 computers.
Any help is welcome.
Thanks in advance.
