Re: How to tell WHY apt wants to install so many packages

For instance, apt wants to install "poster". Why? The only package
that depends on "poster", according to "apt-cache rdepends poster" is
kdeprint, which I do not have installed, and, while it is showing up
as suggested when I do "apt-get --purge remove kdewallpapers" it is
NOT being installed. So why is "poster" being installed?

Could this possibly be the same thing as this apt bug?
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=89035&archive=yes

I filed that bug in 2001, but neither I nor the apt maintainers could replicate it, so the bug got closed two years later.
