option 1
to set the proxy user/pass add 2 environment variables.
export http_proxy_user=whatever
export http_proxy_pass=whatever

or it could be http_proxy_passwd, I cant remember.

option 2
your site is running an ms poxy, and is using ntlm auth on it. this is
an absolutly wonderful protocol. the only thing that can get through
it is ms ie (or mozilla)
but you can bypass the ntlm section using
http://freshmeat.net/projects/ntlmaps/
