I run Linux debian 2.6.4-1-386 #1 Sat Mar 13 17:49:12 EST 2004 i686 GNU/Linux
debian bin. kernel and udev
ii  udev           0.030-1        /dev/ management daemon
package.
I did 'find /sys |grep ppp' and it got: 
/sys/cdev/major/ppp
Is this what I should alias to /dev/ppp ?
