Looks awesome. Can the content of the CDs be restored to another PC of
different hardware configuration?

Then just run mondoarchive and you are done.
It creates however many CD's or DVD's that are needed to contain your
system, including window$, and makes them bootable.
Then you can either recover individual files from those CD's or boot
the
first one to install that system wherever you would like on whatever
architecture you would like.
It's a dream.
