So you need info about the ssh servers in each machine. From your
original post I found that aspen runs an OpenSSH 3.4p1 server, so forget
my inquiries about it on my previous answer.
One last thing to check is ~/.ssh permissions; I remember sshd rejecting
public key authentication because of this directory (and private keys
inside) not being chmod'ed 600.
