_Unless_ you're using gpm, the console mouse driver, in addition to the mouse driver in X. In that case, you'll need to get gpm configured properly, repeating the "raw" data, and configure X to look to /dev/gpmdata.

Is it to edit /etc/X11/gdm/gdmconfig ? What shall I add or delelet
there?

Forgot to address this question: gpm is the console mouse driver; gdm is the Gnome Display Manager, which provides a graphical login screen for X. The config file for gpm is /etc/gpm.conf, but as mentioned in an earlier post, you can "edit" it with the "gpmconfig" tool rather than editing it manually (although you can edit it manually if you so prefer, and it's a very simple file).
