smbclient patch for KDE3.1
Hi
We've got a network server running samba 2.2.3a-12.3 under woody. We
have windows 98 clients and a macOSX client (G4). One PC is dual
booting into woody, as is the G4 and both are using KDE3.1.
Everything works fine except that no changes can be saved to the
file server from the Linux (KDEDesktop) side on either box.
The error message refers to a patch required from:
http://lisa-home.sourceforge.net/smbclientpatch.html
However, the instructions refer to applying the patch to the source and
then make, install but our KDE and samba installations are deb packages
and so there are no source files to patch. Is the only solution to
compile samba from source and then apply the patch? Or does anyone have
a better suggestion?
TIA
Clive
