Messing with /etc/pcmcia/wireless.opts produced different output, but it still didn't work. It detected the new settings, and tried to run /sbin/iwconfig to apply them, but iwconfig doesn't exist in this install routine. That sounds like the underlying problem to me... the Debian install doesn't include iwconfig, and so can't change parameters on wireless network cards. -- Joel Konkle-Parker
