Does it "freeze" or does it just never progress?
I noticed that dhcp during install sometimes gets errors and just
continuously starts over.  IT seems a buffer is getting overloaded so it
errors out and then starts over on the dhcp request and repeats this
forever.
You should see if you can switch to the console window to see the error.
"alt-f?".  Try alt-f1, alt-f2 , etc to look for errors (sorry can't remember
right now).

can you can manually set the ip address and gateway?
