Unfortunately it doesn't. No change.

Well, I'm not in a position to tell whether it's a bug or not. Maybe
the change was a good thing but triggered some other bug. Chemotherapy
may be the right thing, too, even if it doesn't feel so. I don't know
what was changed, it's even a guess that it happened with a
dist-upgrade. All I can tell that I'll have a hard time playing
freeciv (actually I'm not playing it at all since then) and have to
move closer to the monitor to read the smaller fonts.
