I don't remember how I originally generated my config file. I guess once
upon a time I did a "XFree86 -configure", but that was a long time ago,
I've done changes since then.  I use the matrox drivers from not too
long ago (mga) with no Options in the "Device" Section.  I don't use a
font server and have the TT fonts as the first fontpath.

The problem had happened to me before, but I think it went away in a
dist-upgrade.  It seemed to come back after a xset fp rehash when I
added the Vera fonts. Can't really know for sure, I restarted X for the
first time in a while so it could have happened in a previous dist-upgrade 
or previous change.

I'm just looking for info on how to track the problem down but I'm not a
font expert. AFAIK it might be some change I made in some config file at
some point in time or a bug in libxft2.

As I said before, single head works fine.
