What version of TCP is shipped with Debian? Debian doesn't go anywhere near TCP. TCP is implemented in the Linux kernel, and afaik, the kernel images in Debian don't include any patches that affect its operation or add or remove any features. Linux has had tcp_sack support for, afaik, all of the 2.4 series. If you wish to disable it, you can echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_sack Btw, if you're running "testing", any versions "shipped with Debian" are irrelevant. Also, your Content-Type header lies, claiming that your message was iso-8859-1, when in fact it was windows-1252. You should fix that. good times, Vineet -- http://www.doorstop.net/ -- "Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one." --President Thomas Jefferson
