need help setting xmodmap

I want to be able to write Spanish characters from my keyboard (woody)
and I am trying to write my xmodmap, but I am not sure about the meaning
of expressions such as

keycode 48 = dead_acute dead_diaeresis braceleft
keycode 49 = masculine ordfeminine backslash

that I got from /usr/share/xmodmap/xmodmap.es. Is there anywhere a list
of characters (such as the extended ASCII) with these names, that would
allow me to exactly know what they are equivalent to?

Another question: Say I want to be able to type accented e with the
sequence "right alt + ' + e"
What would the corresponding instruction be in such case in .xmodmaprc?

Thanks.
