The best thing to do is let us know what kind of wire goes from your
soundcard to your speakers. Is it the same kind of connector as for
the headphones. Is it optical (red light), is it RCA (audio-video
cable type thing), etc.

It might sound stupid but have you tried playing with the mixer
settings using something like aumix. Also what exact kind of soundcard
do you have.

With that information I am sure someone will be able to help you
out. Without it we can only speculate.
