It turns out that this was some kind of fluke.  I found some other lines
in my sources.list that may have impacted this, and tested with various
combinations commented and uncommented.  Now, I cannot duplicate this,
nor can I get apt-cache search to display anything remotely related to
j2...

However, a month ago blackdown promised that a deb was coming within
weeks, and I am anxiously awaiting it . . .
