Re: X11

The problem here is:
The box is a server, so I need to use Woody (not Sarge or Sid).

For now i'm going to remove the vga from the server to my desktop (Sarge), and put the mga (that works fine on Woody) on the Server.

Tanks for your help.
Since this problem take a bit of time, and for now i'm installing a firewall, and 3 boxs with apache and exim, i'd try to solve later. I'm new in a company, and i'm changing the ms$ boxs to Debian, ms$ Office to OpenOffice, IE to Mozzila (even in boxs with windows)

Tanks.

When I know the answer, I post: [SOLVED] X11 with ATI 9000 with all steps.

I do not know if he can help, but the man who works on the drivers for ATI 9000 (I think) is daenzer@debian.org. His name is Michel, and he is Swiss.

Perhaps you should ask what list to get on to follow his progress, or perhaps he will just answer you directly.

If you find out the correct mailing list, it would be nice to write a message to debian user

I still can't start X with and Ati 9000 (on a desktop).
I'd try: ati, atimisc, radeon, vesa and vga.
If I use the vga driver, I can start X, but ...
I dont need 3D, only 2D 24 color bits.

Tanks in advance
