now, after all of that, i have centericq v4.8.4 up and running, and
it's still buggy. the AIM protocol hates me:

[aim] connecting to the server
[aim] password sent
[aim] disconnected from the network

it will randomly connect, get a couple messages, and then sign me off.
also, it likes to send my friends' away messages to me as messages
when i sign on.

anyone have any suggestions?

thanks again,
