Find out what kind of network card you have, load the appropriate driver
(browse the list with "modconfig"), and after the kernel module for your
NIC is succesfully loaded, apt-get install dhcp-client and run dhclient
as root to autoconfigure your cable connection (an IP address is
assigned, the default gateway, the DNS servers, expiry time, etc).
