I tried this, formatting the floppy as ext2.  Everything copies OK,
and grub makes a stab at loading the kernel, but then barfs,
complaining about incompatible filesystems.

I'm curious about that.  Anyone got an idea?  I'll try Jamin's
suggestion, which is to use DDO software, and that would be the
simplest.  I'd prefer to avoid flashing the BIOS, having gotten burned
once through vague instructions.
