i don't remember encountering those particular errors when i tried 2.4.14, 
but i remember tossing it after only a few hours due to repeated crashes. i 
can recommend 2.4.17. it's been solid on my system for many months. it's 
worth a try. if you still get the errors, then you know at least it isn't a 
kernel flaw.
