I don't think there is much speed difference between courier and uw,
since uw now supports maildir.  Apart from my (very) recent post
regarding a disconnect from uw, I like uw better because it can handle
the INBOX as /var/mail/<user> and other folders as ~/Mail/<folder>.
courier can only handle INBOX as ~/Maildir with subfolders (eg
INBOX.Sent) as ~/Maildir/.<folder>.  I prefer not to use cyrus
specifically because of it's "closed" nature; I want to be able to
have direct access to the mailstore.
