tried this and got the same results. The XF86Config-4 was created but
startx bails with the messages (summarized paraphrased)
(EE) MGA: Failed to load module 'mga_hal' (module does not exist, 0)
blah blah
using builtin mode inst
(EE) Screens found, but none have a usable config.
Fatal server error: no screens found
Again, I renamed the config file and startx seemed to work. A head
scratcher. Might just try booting into Gentoo and then looking at the
XFConfig-4 file there. Can't read it from woody with 2.2.20 since my Gentoo
partition is XFS.
