debmirror timeout

Hello,

I'm trying to keep the sid mirror up to date using debmirror on a
Pentium machine. It gets Packages and Release files without problems.
The scanning stage lasts about 15 min., so the remote ftp server times
out (I see 421's in the --debug output), and all files to be downloaded
fail.

How can I work around the situtation?

I've tried also --timeout option, although I can't see how it can affect
the remote timeout settings.
