YOUR PC. There is lots of broken hardware, that stops doing emulation
when Linux does the basec hardware check, and only works again when you
loaded all needed modules (input, usbkbd/keybdev, usb-uhci). There is
also a bug somewhere in some USB driver, causing weird behavior (timeout
messages) and breakage when compiled into the kernel and loaded while
the hardware detection.

So the only way is to go with modules, at least for the installation
kernel. This creates other traps, but it seems to work.
